Fund Number Established for Northwest Georgia Tornado Response

The North Georgia Conference has set up Fund Number 3743 to support the Conference Disaster Response for yesterday's storms. The title of this fund is Disaster Response - Tornado Winter 2013. Members can drop a check in any North Georgia UMC offering plate made out to the church with "Tornado Winter 2013" in memo line. Churches, groups, other donors can mail checks noting Fund 3743 to:  Conference Treasurer's Office PO Box 102417 Atlanta, GA 30368-2417

Tornadoes, high winds and heavy rains resulting in flooding have hit many of our Georgia counties today. Just after 11 am a tornado struck the Adairsville area causing significant damage and at least one fatality. Other areas are also reporting tornado or straight line wind damage. General Board of Discipleship Recruiting Youth and Young Adults to Help with Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

A two-year effort called the Restoration Generation initiative soon will begin enlisting United Methodist youth and young adults to help rebuild the homes, lives and spirits of people in areas left ravaged by Hurricane Sandy. ERT Opportunity in New Jersey

More than 16,000 UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) cleaning buckets have already been distributed in five states from Maryland to New York in response to super-storm Sandy. We are asking churches in the North Georgia Conference to assemble cleaning buckets and school kits to be distributed as well. We will collect the kits and deliver them to the appropriate warehouse. MISSISSIPPI CONFERENCE SEEKS IN-STATE VIM TEAMS ONLY (UMNS) Mississippi Annual Conference has yielded calls from several out-of-state teams.
